Psalm 4:8 is made by Ahlchemy, a family authoring company. It is a sleep app for tired parents, and it is built to hold as little of your life as it possibly can.
No account, no tracking
There is nothing to sign up for. We do not use analytics, advertising identifiers, or third-party trackers, and we do not build a profile of you or your child.
What stays on your device
Your journal entries, saved verses, volume and timer settings, chosen theme and background all live in your browser’s local storage on the device you used. They are never uploaded to us. Clearing your browser data, or uninstalling the app, deletes them permanently — we hold no copy and cannot restore them.
The prayer companion
When you tap Send Prayer, the words you typed are sent over an encrypted connection to our server, which passes them to Anthropic’s Claude API to compose a short reply and a verse. We do not store your prayer text on our server, and we do not attach your name, email, account or device identifier to it — the request carries the text and nothing else. Anthropic processes it under its own commercial terms and does not use API traffic to train its models. If you never use the prayer feature, nothing you write ever leaves your device.
Please don’t include full names, addresses, medical details or anything else you would not want a service provider to process. The companion is a comfort feature. It is not counselling, and it is not medical, legal or crisis advice.
Server logs
The site runs on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare records standard request information — IP address, timestamp, user agent — for a short period to deliver traffic and defend against abuse. We do not join that information to anything you write.
Children
The app is written for parents and carers, not for children, and it collects nothing about the child it is played for. There is no in-app chat, no sharing, no social feed.
Music and recordings
Everything you hear is either recorded by the Ahl family or licensed to Ahlchemy Author Company. Full attribution for each track is on the credits page. The noise layers are generated on your device rather than recorded, so no audio file is downloaded for them at all.
Payments
Psalm 4:8 is free today. If paid features are added later, card details will be handled entirely by the payment processor and will never touch our servers. This page will be updated before that happens.
